I am deeply honored to speak at this fifteenth in the series of World Conferences in Education that your prestigious organization, the World Council on Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) is holding this year in the beautiful city of Kaohsiung. I thank the WCCI Executive Board of Directors for inviting me to present the keynote address at this well-attended, well-prepared and well-organized biennial conference. It is very encouraging to see so many of you joining from various parts of the world to share your contributions towards the forward-looking theme of the conference: “Educating for Peace and Harmony with the Earth and Ourselves”.
