I was at the airport rather early. I got myself a seat at the restaurant making sure that the electronic board with departure flights information was within sight. While waiting for my flight to Frankfurt, Germany, I indulged myself with people-watching. I was in a crowd of travelers and yet my mind was like a movie screen, recalling the events of past few days when I first attended my WCCI conference.
I must commend those who organized this conference. I was truly impressed with the efficiency but more importantly, the spirit of volunteerism and desire to do extra for the cause of education. I was greeted at the airport on my arrival and transported to the hotel with a group of other conference attendees. We became fast friends, chatting and sight seeing along the way. A truly warm and friendly faces greeted us in the hotel lobby – the good Professor Dr. Ismail Mirici of Akdeniz University and his team were there in the hotel lobby welcoming us to Turkey and ensuring that our needs are being met. Yes, they have been a superb host! If I forget to personally express my appreciation and gratitude to him and his Turkish colleagues for their hospitality and excellent organizational skills, I can only offer an apology. But I must not forget the steady hands of Carole Caparros, Estela Matriano, Judith Johnson and others who guided the organization to become what it is. A. Zaidy MohdZain, EdD.
